Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
The stats of an item can be improved by upgrading it, which is also known as "upping". Each upgrade increment gives an increase in the linearity of any stat.

This is the highest value that the glyph can improve a stat by and not the amount it actually increases it by. The value of the glyph depends on the tier and quality of the product you are in awe of.
Most upgrade components slotted into items cannot be repaired or replaced without dismantling the gear in question, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a rune or glyph you do not want to use, but it hasn't been applied to the gear yet, you can move the item to a different piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu in the Glyphs Panel. This will create a Glyph Set that includes the chosen glyph.
If you are looking to remove the glyph from an item, you will need to save it using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. This will cause the item to be destroyed in which it is installed however, you can salvage the upgraded item using the glyph and its shards so this should not be considered as a loss.
When you take away an item after adding a glyph, the shards from the glyph will vanish. You can also add a glyph on your equipment to make it more valuable. For example the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and deal it slowly rather than all at one time. This can be helpful for players who take many hits from their enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens

Leveling
